Formula E

A city-based, single-seater electric car motor racing championship, Formula E was authored by FIA President Jean Todt and Spanish businessman Alejandro Agag as a means to demonstrate the potential of sustainable mobility to help create a better, cleaner world. Since making its global debut in the grounds of the Olympic Park in Beijing in 2014, Formula E has grown into a global entertainment brand with motorsport at its heart. With 9 manufacturers, 12 teams and 24 drivers on the grid, the Championship has become a destination for the world's best motorsport teams and talent. Formula E serves as a competitive platform for global car manufacturers and mobility providers to test and develop road-relevant technologies on actual city streets, helping to refine the design of electric vehicles and improve the driving experience for everyday road car users all over the world. Formula E is fast becoming the most intense racing series on the planet, where the future of mobility and close combat wheel-to-wheel racing takes place on global city streets. Aware of the future potential for an electric race series, Amalgam started discussions with Formula E in 2012, well before the first season started in 2014. With many connections to FE including a friendship with the designer of the car and the manager of Jean Eric Vergne, we are increasingly involved as the series grows in strength each season, working alongside the FE teams and manufacturers: Renault, Jaguar, ABT, Mahindra, Porsche and Mercedes EQ to a name but a few.
