Revealed at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show, the Gallardo LP 560-4 was, in the words of Lamborghini, an “evolution of perfection”. A considerable development of the 2003 Gallardo, the LP 560-4 was powered by a new 5.2L 552hp V10 engine which was 18% more efficient despite increasing the power output by over 40 horsepower. Accompanied by a 20 kg (44 lb) weight reduction to the original car, the LP 560-4 could reach 0-62mph (100km/h) in 3.7 seconds and 0-124mph (200km/h) in 11.8 seconds, on to a top speed of 202 mph (325km/h). The Gallardo’s updated design was influenced by the Murciélago LP 640 and Reventón which were released in the couple of years prior. Combining an aggressive muscular shape with simple, elegant contours, the redesigned front end is characterised by triangular and trapezoidal forms, highly typical of Lamborghini’s design language. The Gallardo had larger air intakes ahead of the front wheels and new 19-inch "Apollo polished" alloy wheels, painted in matte black and featuring spokes in polished silver. The new rear end of the car emphasised the design's horizontal orientation by creating the impression of a low-slung car that adheres to the road. This perfect 1:8 scale model of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 has been handcrafted and finished in our workshops with the co-operation and assistance of Lamborghini regarding original finishes, materials, archive imagery and drawings. The use of supremely accurate digital scanning of the original car has allowed us to perfectly recreate every detail at scale. Furthermore, it has undergone detailed scrutiny by both engineering and design teams to ensure complete accuracy of representation. Every Amalgam 1:8 scale model is supplied in a luxury black presentation box and mounted on a carbon fibre or leather base protected by a clear acrylic dust cover. The model title, original branding and edition number are displayed on polished stainless steel plaques mounted at the front end of the base.
